This opportunity supports the enrollment/credentialing of provider application processes changes to accounts and the ongoing monitoring of providers that treat injured workerswhile supporting the agencys mission to Keep Washington Safe and Working.

This position directly supports the agency goal 3 Make it easy to do business and engage with L&I. It also indirectly supports agency goal 2 Help injured workers heal and return to work.

The Insurance Services Health Services Analysis program is comprised of various work units with a shared vision to achieve provider excellence to reduce work disability by ensuring worker access to high quality care.

Duties

Some of what you will do:

  • Determine provider eligibility by validating that the provider meets requirements for their specialty type.
  • Conduct primary source verifications by utilizing the Automated Provider Screening tool integrated with ProviderOne (IRS DOH OIG DEA and ABMS). When needed use external databases for primary source verification.
  • Approve enrollment records in ProviderOne for automated creation of a MIPS provider account number.
  • Contact and counsel providers on applicable policies and procedures related to applications and/or updates into ProviderOne/MIPS.
  • Communicate with providers providers staff representatives of L&I program areas state federal and local government agencies educational and credentialing/licensing institutions and other outside organizations.
  • Independently prioritize job tasks coordinate and resolve resource conflicts related to program activities; structure and administer activities to ensure consistent approaches are utilized within the program and organization.
  • Attend and participate in training unit staff meetings and additional meetings as requested.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

AND

  • Two years of experience providing assistance to customers regarding inquiries complaints or problems within a medical or health related setting.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Products (Word Excel Outlook Access)
  • Accurately type 40 words per minute.

Additional qualifying education can substitute year for year for experience.

Desired:

  • Possess current Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or Certified Provider Medical Services Management (CPMSM) certificate or designation.
  • Knowledge of medical licensure and medical board certification and NCQA credentialing standards.
  • Proficient in the use of credentialing software such as Vistar ProviderOne etc.
  • Proficient in the use of billing software such as MIPS.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and medical licensure.
