Overview:


Nationwide Childrens Hospital is seeking Pediatric Hospitalists to join our experienced and growing team of regional providers north of Columbus.

Hospitalists working at this location are employees of Nationwide Childrens Hospital. Full-time (eight 24-hour shifts per month) and part-time positions are available. Responsibilities of the Pediatric Hospitalist include attendance at high-risk deliveries & C-sections admissions and daily rounding on Special Care Nursery (level I) and well-baby (mother/infant) units. Daily rounding on pediatric inpatient unit and general pediatric Emergency Department consultations for admissions and/or transfers. Procedures would include but are not limited to intubation surfactant administration insertion of umbilical lines circumcisions chest tube/needle decompressions and neonatal resuscitation.

Qualified candidates must be board certified/board eligible in Pediatrics NRP & PALS certified patient-centered and demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in pediatric care. Certification in Pediatric Hospital Medicine is not required. The position offers a competitive salary a generous sign-on bonus and excellent benefits package.

The program provides comprehensive onboarding that will include neonatal simulation time 4 6 weeks of proctored shifts with hospitalists at regional sites and ongoing education in the skills and procedures required for this position.

Essential Functions:

  • Conducts patient assessments and diagnoses medical conditions.
  • Develops and implements treatment plans for patients in accordance with established protocols. Monitors patient progress and adjusts treatment plans as necessary.
  • Orders and interprets diagnostic tests to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment.
  • Communicates with patients and their families to provide education and support.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date medical records for each patient and coordinates care with other healthcare professionals.
  • Participates in the training and education of medical students residents and fellows as required.
  • Stays up-to-date with medical advancements and research to provide the best possible care.

Education Requirement:

  • Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine equivalent required.
  • Graduate of an approved Fellowship program if applicable required.

Licensure Requirement:

  • Medical License in the State of Ohio required.
  • Unrestricted licensed physician required.

Certifications:

Board Certification or eligibility in Pediatrics required.
