Pittsburg State University School of Construction has an opening for a full-time non-tenure earningAssistant InstructionalProfessor9-month faculty position to support our 500 major Construction Management Construction Engineering Technology SafetyManagementand Interior Design programs. Position may be renewable foradditionalyears.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Commitsto a team-oriented environment within progressive Construction Management and Construction Engineering Technology programs
  • Focuseson teaching (12 hours per semester) student recruitmentcareeradvising mentoring and industry engagement
  • Teachescourses in construction methods (e.g. concrete plumbing steel HVAC electrical framing) construction management estimatingCADgraphics or other relevant courses within the School of Construction
  • Developsand deliverscurrent and innovative courses in Construction Management and Construction Engineering Technology
  • Maintainscomputer competency for the effective use of educational technology and resources incoursedelivery and management
  • Servicesor Projects forthe School of Construction and Crossland College of Technologyasdeterminedat hire by the Director and Dean

Education and Experience

Required Education and Experience - Time of Hire

  • Undergraduate degree (BS/BA) in construction engineering engineering technology managementbusinessor a closely related technical area
  • 5-years U.S. construction experience

Candidates must hold a bachelors degree in construction engineeringengineeringtechnology management or business discipline or related field. Thisdegreerequirement is necessary for accreditation purposes and to ensure candidatespossessthe specialized knowledge skills and abilities that can only beattainedthrough a formal educational program at this level.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Masters degree in construction management civil or structural engineering engineering technology relatedfieldor 10 years of US construction experience
  • Record of professional society (AGC NAHB AIC ASCE ASEE ASSE etc.) engagement
  • Professional registration/certifications (contractors license CPC LEED PE LS OSHA NCCER or others)
  • 1 years experience teachingUniversitycollegeor community college
  • 10-years U.S. construction or closely related technical experience in a managerial/supervisory position

Salary Range: $70000.00 annually

Job Type: Unclassified Faculty Non-Tenure Earning Renewable Annually

Appointment Duration: 9 months
