Chaperone Job Summary:

Supervises and assists students in transit or crossing streets.
Moves or assists in moving students whose mobility is impaired by their special needs.
Facilitates the loading and unloading process including assisting with wheelchair students and securing wheelchairs.
Assist students into car seats andbooster seatsbucklingseatbeltsas needed.
Monitors and assists students to ensure comfort safety and orderly conduct on bus.
Demonstrates and role models positive safe and responsible behavior.

Chaperone Physical Requirements:

Climbing on and off bus bending and squatting to assist students as needed sitting for extended periods.
Capable of assisting moving or dragging students in case of an emergency (ranging in weight from small child to full adult).
Exposure to elements road dust occasional fuel and exhaust fumes.

Compensation / Benefits:
According to contractual agreement (based on 2024-25 contract)

Chaperones/Crossing Guards: $19.14 21.07 Hourly
