The function of the AFECE is to provide the best possible care to endometriosis patients in a supportive coordinated and multidisciplinary manner. It will bring together current expertise leadership and research at Epworth HealthCare to create a dedicated endometriosis research centre with the ultimate goal of becoming a national resource for the comprehensive treatment of endometriosis.
The Centre Director will lead and have overall responsibility for the establishment and successful performance of the Argyrou Family Endometriosis Centre at Epworth (AFECE). This will be achieved by leading and overseeing an innovative portfolio of research projects and clinical service developments which seek to find new and better ways to diagnose and treat endometriosis.
You will make an impact by:
- Promoting effective clinical care of endometriosis patients in an integrated manner across Epworth
- Advocating for greater awareness and support for patients with endometriosis
- Taking leadership of an active research agenda related to endometriosis
Position Description Inherent Requirements
Qualifications :
You will have:
- Registration as a specialist with the Medical Board of Australia;
- Fellowship of an Australian medical specialist college or equivalent;
- A commitment to Epworth HealthCares Values and Strategic Plan and be willing to undertake significant leadership roles
- An understanding of the challenges of healthcare delivery in an era of significant change within the not-for-profit private health care sector
- Ability to build and lead an effective research team
- Proven experience of collaborative research
- Experience in Honours Masters and PhD supervision
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills
- Demonstrated ability to contribute positively within a research team
- Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritise
- A professional and engaging approach to research
- Professional work ethic and flexible work style
