Job Summary

We are seeking a strategic leader to drive operational excellence across the IDN. The Head of National Operations role is pivotal in shaping supporting and delivering innovative healthcare service models that integrate virtual and on-site care ensuring compliance with all regulatory and contractual obligations.

As a key influencer you will lead high-impact programs foster stakeholder collaboration and champion data-driven improvements to optimise service delivery. With a focus on leadership and performance you will empower a team of operations and health professionals to achieve exceptional outcomes in a complex and fast-paced environment.

Our head office is in Melbourne but we welcome applications from talented candidates across Australia.

Join us in bringing a new approach to medical and wellbeing care for detainees by:

  • Leading and managing a team of operations and health professionals fostering a culture of excellence and accountability to enable effective and efficient health service delivery across the IDN.
  • Ensuring compliance with all contractual legislative and policy obligations across every facet of operational healthcare service delivery. A strong focus on governance and adherence to standards is essential to maintain quality and integrity.
  • Working closely with key internal and external stakeholders to develop the potential of an integrated service delivery model. This includes maximising virtual healthcare delivery by ensuring seamless coordination with on-site operations. Collaboration is central to this role.
  • Tracking outcomes against key performance indicators and designing data-driven strategies to enhance operational efficiency and service quality. Performance monitoring and continuous improvement are also key aspects of the role.

Your ability to lead with clarity vision and purpose establishes a strong foundation for collaboration and performance. You are deeply committed to cultivating an inclusive high-performing culture that empowers individuals fosters accountability and delivers outstanding results.

We are seeking someone with experience in shaping strategies that achieve operational and clinical goals and the capability to translate those strategies into clear workable plans. You will be confident designing the steps processes and initiatives required to execute on those goals and driving them through to delivery. With a strong focus on using data to inform decisions and improve programs youll help ensure that improvements are evidence-based measurable and embedded across the service.

You will have expertise in healthcare regulations standards of care clinical governance and quality improvement methodologies. A nursing background with current AHPRA registration in nursing or another relevant clinical profession (without conditions) and Bachelors or Masters degree in healthcare administration nursing public health or a related field are essential.
