About the Department: The Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Department offers B.S. and M.S. degrees in both Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering as well as M.S. degrees in Digital Forensics and Telecommunications. The department comprises more than 30 faculty members and serves over 950 students including more than 300 graduate students. ECE maintains a vibrant and growing research portfolio with faculty conducting cutting-edge research across a broad spectrum of areas including bioengineering; communications and networking; control systems and robotics; cyber-physical systems; cybersecurity; digital forensics; machine learning and artificial intelligence; semiconductors and microelectronics; power and energy systems; signal processing; and space-based and satellite systems. |
About the Position: Prompted by the GMU College of Engineering and Computing goals to expand its research capacity in semiconductors and microelectronics and by the national and Commonwealth of Virginias workforce development needs the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is announcing an Open Rank position in the broad areas of semiconductor devices and electronic materials. Priority research topics include but are not limited to design and synthesis of advanced nanoelectronic materials; device fabrication and system integration; low-dimensional nanomaterials for ultra-scaled devices and foldable electronics; computational nanoelectronics including AI-assisted materials discovery and fabrication; neuromorphic devices and circuits; in-memory computing; quantum materials devices and circuits; cryogenic electronics; heterogeneous integration and advanced packaging; wide-bandgap materials power electronics and harsh-environment electronics; next-gen optoelectronics and photonics. Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate a high potential for research impact successfully compete for major research grants in collaboration with GMU faculty members and leverage Masons nanofabrication facility. Candidates with both experimental and computational research expertise are welcome to apply. |

The College of Engineering and Computing (CEC) at George Mason University is a fast-growing force for innovation in research and education.
