Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) to support surgical and clinical teams in an acute care environment. This role is responsible for the decontamination assembly sterilization and distribution of surgical instruments and medical equipment ensuring compliance with national standards and infection prevention protocols.
Key Responsibilities
Decontaminate inspect assemble wrap and sterilize surgical instruments and trays
Operate sterilization equipment including:
Autoclaves
Washerdisinfectors
Ultrasonic cleaners
Perform and document biological and chemical indicator testing
Maintain accurate sterilization logs and instrument tracking records
Organize restock and distribute sterile supplies to clinical departments
Adhere to strict infection control safety and regulatory guidelines
Collaborate with operating room and nursing staff to ensure timely instrument availability
Support efficient surgical workflows and patient safety initiatives
Required Experience
Minimum 1 year of recent Sterile Processing experience in a hospital or surgical services setting
Strong working knowledge of:
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team-oriented environment
Required Certifications (Active at Start)
