Whats the job
Reporting to theProgram DirectortheCommunity ServicesLecturer(Learning Facilitator)is responsible forpreparingdeliveringand assessing subjects asallocatedfortheBachelorof Community Services and related courses.
LearningFacilitatorsare responsible forensuringstudents are provided with the best opportunity toattainsubjectlearning outcomes and satisfactorily complete their assessment tasks.Theymustalsoparticipatein course review initiatives including validation and moderation activities andare required tobe available to provide student support outside of timetabled class hours.
Day-to-day accountabilities:
Manage small or large blended/hybrid and or/online classes as well as monitor and ensure participation of students(The Learning Management System LMS used by TUA is Canvas).
Manage their own and the students time and attention to learningeffectively
Validate and review teaching materials and make any recommendations necessary as per organisationalpolicy andprocedures
Make proper use of all currentsubject/ unit outlines teaching material (shared lesson plansslides videos etc.) and student learning materials (texts workbooks handouts study guides interactive PDFs portal content journal articles etc.)
Utilise learning technology effectively and embed in subject or unit delivery
Engage in student centred learning and teaching practices including but not limited to competency-based learning and assessment flipped learningmaintainingan active and positive educationexperience
Engage with models of best practice in applying competency based pedagogical principles instructional strategies and communication strategies appropriate to thelearners;including modes of instruction and the educational contextof Torrens Global Education (TGE)

Whoyou are
PHD/Doctoral qualification related to Community Services Social Work Sociology SocialPolicyordisciplinerelevant to the fieldof Community Services
5 years relevant work experience related to the Community Services sector (ie. Aged Care Disability Correctional Services Community Development Mental Health and Substance Misuse and other vulnerable populations)
Higher Education teaching experience withdemonstratedexperience delivering Learning & Teaching excellence both in face-to-face and onlineenvironments
Experience teaching Community Services studentspreferred
Familiarity withAustralian Community Workers Association (ACWA)requirements and a sound understanding of current scholarship and/or professional practice in the discipline that is beingtaught
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and commitment to continuous professionaldevelopment
