Role Overview

Senior-level Project Manager responsible for planning budgeting overseeing and documenting multiple projects within the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) Environmental Epidemiology and Disease Registries Section. Work involves managing priority initiatives coordinating across programs and applying project management best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage multiple projects across large organizations.
  • Develop project management tools charters schedules budgets risk assessments and reports.
  • Maintain project data and report progress to executive leadership.
  • Facilitate meetings resolve issues and remove project barriers.
  • Provide recommendations for process improvements and operational optimization.
  • Prepare written materials for diverse audiences including senior management
  • PMP certification required

8RequiredAbility to develop and deliver reports identifying gaps in technology and operational effectiveness.
8RequiredSkilled in effectively mapping business processes and identifying process improvements and skilled in planning and facilitating meetings and group problem solving
8RequiredDevelops or contributes to the development of statements of work project charters design documentation test plans risk assessments project budgets schedules work plans resources requirements and cost estimates and projections.
8RequiredExperience developing and maintaining strong relationships with multiple project sponsors and stakeholders. Must possess strong communication and presentation skills and strong teamwork skills.
8RequiredSkilled in project management of multiple projects with experience with implementations across large organizations to include developing and managing project plans and documenting risks issues and contingency plans.
8RequiredEnsuring resolution of issues and removal of project barriers
7PreferredExperience developing written materials including briefing documents administrative reports and PowerPoint presentations for diverse audiences including senior and executive management
5PreferredAbility to appropriately summarize and escalate issues and develop and present weekly status updates (written and verbal) and conduct regular project team status meetings. Compiles and distributes project information project status reports and budget
