Role Overview

The Database Architect 3 will design and implement enterprise-level data architecture solutions for the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC). This senior-level role focuses on building robust relational databases data warehouses and cloud-based data platforms to support advanced analytics and healthcare initiatives. The position requires expertise in data modeling ETL pipeline design and integration of emerging technologies such as AI and machine learning.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and build relational databases data warehouses and data lakes for analytics and reporting.
  • Develop strategies for data acquisition archiving recovery and governance.
  • Implement cloud-based data architecture solutions using Azure AWS or GCP; primary platform: Snowflake.
  • Architect and manage ETL pipelines using Informatica and integration tools.
  • Ensure compliance with EIR Accessibility Standards for all database interfaces.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data strategies with organizational goals.
  • Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies (AI ML big data) into healthcare data solutions.
  • Lead advanced analytics projects and provide thought leadership on data modeling best practices.
  • Maintain centralized metadata registry and enforce enterprise data standards.
  • Work closely with data engineers developers and analysts for seamless data accessibility.
