Job Title: Sourcing Specialist
Location: Hybrid with travel to Texas sites (30%) (ability to travel to TX plants)
Pay Rate: $46 $48/hour
Duration: 12 Months
Role Overview
This role supports an operational procurement center responsible for managing purchase requests supplier engagement and sourcing activities. The Principal Sourcing Specialist handles complex purchasing and project-based initiatives while providing guidance and mentoring to procurement team members. The position works closely with strategic sourcing business stakeholders and suppliers to ensure efficient compliant and cost-effective procurement execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Process purchase requisitions into purchase orders with qualified suppliers and competitive pricing
- Conduct supplier research RFQs RFPs and bid evaluations in compliance with procurement policies
- Negotiate pricing contracts and terms; place and manage purchase orders
- Collaborate with strategic sourcing agreements and sourcing opportunities
- Engage suppliers on delivery performance invoicing and issue resolution
- Support outage planning and project-based procurement activities
- Monitor and report savings KPIs and procurement metrics
- Maintain blanket agreements pricing accuracy and process compliance
- Lead procurement process improvement initiatives and support enterprise-wide sourcing efforts
- Mentor and coach procurement specialists while balancing team workload
Working Conditions
- Combination of remote work open-office environments and power plant sites
- Occasional overtime for project-based needs
- Local travel up to 30%
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- 5 years of procurement experience
- Strong negotiation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel Power BI)
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Business Finance Engineering or related field
- 5 7 years of sourcing experience in generation retail or corporate spend categories
- Experience with SAP
- CPSM or similar supply management certification
