Who were looking for
- The clients Production Engineering Stamping Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Stamping Engineer for New/Existing Model Projects.
- The primary responsibility of this role is to lead the development and manufacture of high-quality stamping tooling from die(s) build through die(s) handover to the NAMCs.
- Reporting to the Engineering Manager the person in this role will support the Stamping departments objective to achieve new model process RJ (Ryohin Jyoken necessary conditions) completion & final vehicle quality level for all new stamping tooling.
What youll be doing
- Gather and evaluate data from tooling trials and subassembly analysis to implement DMRs (Die Modification Requests) to countermeasure die issues and achieve quality KPIs.
- Accuracy: Review CMM measurement reports of the stamped panels and subassembly analysis to give direction for die changes to meet panel accuracy requirements.
- Formability: Review QA network and thinning reports to assist in giving direction for die improvements to reach a zero split / zero elongation condition.
- Surface Quality: Visually detect surface quality imperfections in stamped panels or subassemblies and assist in giving direction for die improvements.
- Productivity: Work with Die Maker(s) and NAMC Pilot teams to focus on scrap flow blank and part transfer and other factors that influence die productivity to reach the targeted production speed.
- Support hoshin achievement by participating in assigned activities
Requirements:
What you bring
- Bachelors degree (or higher) in an engineering &/or technical discipline or equivalent related work experience
- Technical writing experience
- Willingness to travel to locations other than Kentucky (includes international travel)
- Clients Stamping project experience (ex: die structure/function/confirmation/process creation) experience
- Experience analyzing data from contact and non-contact measurement systems
