LC State invites applications for the position of Budget Analyst.
Salary and rank based on experience and qualifications: $57000 - $62000
Degree Requirement: Bachelors degree in accounting bookkeeping or related field from a regionally accredited college or university.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience in finance and/or budgeting.
- Excellent ability to organize plan and manage complex projects along with a proven ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word Excel PowerPoint PowerBI).
- Involvement in an environment that requires maintaining confidentiality of information.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters degree from a regionally accredited college or university in accounting finance or equivalent.
- Experience in an institution of higher education.
- Working knowledge of Ellucian Colleague Finance module.
- Experience analyzing information identifying problems defining alternatives and developing recommendations for management/administrators.
Responsibilities:
- Establish the processes for development of the budget and assure those processes are carried out in a timely manner.
- Assist in preparation of tentative interim and final budget submissions for the State within established guidelines; review expenditures for programs to ensure proper budget compliance with specialization in Gen Ed (Fund 10) and CTE (Fund 12).
- Responsibility for general accounting including assisting with the institutional budget process budget to actual analysis account reconciliation review and journal entry preparation.
- Foundation financial statement preparation and analysis.
- Assist with review of Foundation payroll deduction worksheet.
- Assist in the formulation and review of internal controls policy guidelines and internal forms.
- Ensure that the College complies with state and federal policies and regulations.
- Communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Additional duties include direct and indirect activities to support recruitment and retention of students.
