Summary
The Foreman as the Company field point of contact over self-performed field labor activities is responsible for ensuring that each project undertaken is safely completed on-time and within the budgeted cost estimate while meeting management and customer objectives for safety quality and schedule. The Foreman performs production work with the ability to lead direct and train Greystone craft personnel. To facilitate these responsibilities the Foreman must utilize management tools such as (but not limited to) Procore timecards daily reports safety inspections and quality control inspections.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Leadership / Management
- Take charge of the day-to-day production of field operations for the project while meeting management and customer objectives for safety quality and schedule.
- Coordinates with Greystone Office to ensure that appropriate staff equipment and material levels are available to safely complete quality work according to customer expectations and timeline.
- Enforce all Company safety policies OSHA policies and other applicable safety standards.
- Hold tool box safety meetings on a weekly basis.
- Coordinate the efforts of Greystone craft personnel to ensure work complies with standards and meets contract requirements.
- Ensure all assigned equipment is inspected operational and maintained in good working order.
- Understand project scope and estimated labor hours to manage completion of project within budget.
- Attend pre-install or other applicable meetings.
- Conduct team meetings to provide clear communication between all team members and assign tasks and responsibility of completion.
- Work with government authorities in obtaining all necessary project inspections and occupancy approvals.
- Document and coordinate with Greystone Office for any project changes that may affect schedule design scope or cost.
- Maintain jobsite cleanliness.
- Manage the project closeout and punch list process.
- Perform additional tasks as requested by management.
Relationship Management
- Able to work professionally with clients vendors employees and supervisors.
- Maintain relationships with neighboring occupants.
- Build long-lasting relationships with customers and subcontractors that are built upon trust and delivered results.
Technology
- Utilize appropriate business software and forms including construction management software time management software and electronic communications.
Technical
- Able to manage with high degree of competency in particular trade being managed.
- Ability to prepare and communicate pre-task plans.
- Must be able to understand and communicate plans specifications and shop drawings.
- Must understand current construction means methods and procedures and be able to direct crew to perform to these standards.
- Must be capable of layout using standard industry tools.
- Must understand basic building codes.
- Work to improve personal technical and supervisory skills through continuing education training or participation in professional organizations.
Prospecting / Business Development
- Promote Company through professional attitude and appearance.
Qualifications
- Five (5) years experience with a general contractor who self performs concrete masonry carpentry or pre-engineered building construction.
- Preferred: OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 with first aid
- Preferred: 2-year associate degree in construction Trades.
- Must have direct supervisory skills and experience with managing construction crews. The direct supervisory skills include training assigning onsite labor providing safety/OSHA instruction performing cost control procedures and maintaining all necessary supporting documentation of the activities.
- Able to apply sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Aptitude for building excellent relationships with internal and external customers.
- Aptitude for verbal written and math skills.
- High level of motivation integrity and commitment to team and customers.
- Strong work ethic decisive ambitious with an unwavering commitment to quality and professional work. Must maintain regular and reliable attendance at a level acceptable to the company including the ability to work overtime holidays evenings or weekends as necessary.
- Travel to job sites is required.
- Must have a valid drivers license and ability to drive DOT company vehicles.
Working Environment / Physical Requirements
- Sitting standing walking un-even surfaces climbing and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Must be capable of working on job sites where temperatures and noise level can fluctuate and the ability to see hear and verbally communicate with co-workers and clients as needed.
- Ability to wear job required Personal Protective Equipment.
