Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Computer Programmer II to support the development enhancement and sustainment of HM&E (Hull Mechanical & Electrical) cybersecurity tools and automation. This role plays a key part in strengthening Navy system security by building reliable software components improving automation workflows and ensuring compliance with established cybersecurity and RMF standards. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented programmer with strong technical acumen a commitment to code quality and the ability to operate effectively in dynamic mission-critical environments.
Responsibilities
- Design develop and maintain software components that support HM&E cybersecurity tools automated workflows and system integrations.
- Implement new features and update existing code according to technical specifications engineering guidance and project requirements.
- Conduct thorough unit testing debugging and code verification to ensure functionality security and performance.
- Utilize SCM systems (e.g. Git) for version control code reviews branch management and documentation.
- Participate in CI/CD pipeline activities including automated testing build processes and deployment optimization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering cybersecurity and system integration teams to troubleshoot issues and deliver high-quality technical solutions.
- Follow established coding standards configuration management (CM) practices and documentation protocols.
- Support onsite and remote activities providing technical assistance and resolving software issues as needed.
Required Skills and Experience
- Technical School Diploma.
- Three (3) years of computer programming experience.
- Minimum Requirements for Computer Programmer II (14072)
- CSWF Certification (IAT Level I):
- CompTIA A
- CompTIA Network
- CompTIA Security
- GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC)
- Proficiency in one or more high-level languages; code troubleshooting and testing; CM practices.
- Knowledge of Navy cybersecurity policies RMF compliance steps and security baseline requirements.
- Ability to complete and maintain all Government-mandated cybersecurity training (e.g. OPSEC CUI Handling Cybersecurity Awareness).
- Ability to support both CONUS and OCONUS travel as mission needs dictate.
- Ability to work effectively remotely in cross-functional teams.
- Ability to meet deadlines and produce quality work.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite software including Outlook Word Excel SharePoint and PowerPoint.
Clearance Requirements
U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
Work Location: United States - Remote

Compensation
The salary range for this position is up to $63744. This is not however a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather salary will be set based on experience geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
