Occasional emergency and standby duties be needed.
The ideal candidate has experience loading unloading stacking and carrying materials and supplies for placement. They possess the skills to operate various types of vehicles for hauling supplies materials and equipment including those with power attachments for tasks like shaping canal banks and excavating. Salary placement is based on the number of qualifying licenses and certifications held. Candidates without certifications will be placed at the entry level range.

Qualifications
Any combination of training education and experience which demonstrates possession of the knowledge and abilities stated above and the ability to perform the duties of the position.
Experience and Education
Typical qualifying entrance background is:
- Two (2) years of experience in laboring work which has provided some familiarity with the operation and uses of heavy construction or maintenance equipment hand and power tools common to a mechanical metal or building trade.
- Three (3) years of operating heavy equipment.
- Graduation from high school or equivalent.
Licenses and Certification
- Possession of a valid Class A California Drivers License with a satisfactory driving record to maintain insurability.
- Possession of or ability to obtain within nine (9) months of date of hire valid Boom Truck Certification.
- Possession and maintenance of a Grade Level 2 - Distribution Operator Certificate (D2) issued by the State of California State Water Resources Control Board is preferred.
