A vacancy has arisen for a Wing Commander (Any Profession) to serve as Advanced Command & Staff Course (Reserves) (ACSC (R)) Directing Staff (DS) at the Joint Services Command and Staff College (JSCSC) Defence Academy (Def Ac) Shrivenham on Volunteer ex-Regular Reserve (minimum of 60 RSDs up to a maximum of 90 where in year RSD funding available) Terms and Conditions of Service (TaCoS) with an initial proposed start date of 15 April 2026.
Unit Function. The unit mission is to provide world-class Command and Staff education and training to enhance operational capability thereby advancing the Defence and Security interests of the United Kingdom
Position Role. The Role function is to mentor guide and motivate students throughout ACSC (R).
Responsibilities
Teach and facilitate collaboratively with the Regular and Academic Directing Staff.
Support development and delivery of ACSC(R).
Support student assessment including remote online assessment exercise.
Draft student end of course reports for Dir ACSC(R).
Attend all mandatory Directing Staff training and induction in accordance with extant Def Ac policies.
Remain accessible to own syndicate students during self-study phase via the Def Ac Virtual Learning Environment.
Be prepared to undertake additional tasks in support of ACSC(R) as directed.
