Job Summary

Term-time Monday to Friday 8:00am 3:15pm (33.75 hours/week)

We are seeking a caring and enthusiastic Prep Teaching and Learning Assistant to support our classroom teacher in delivering engaging and age-appropriate learning experiences for our youngest students. This role is ideal for someone passionate about early childhood education and committed to helping children develop foundational skills.

About the Role

As a Junior School Teaching & Learning Assistant you will work collaboratively with classroom teachers and the Learning Enrichment Department to support studentsparticularly those requiring additional assistance. The position will play an integral role in supporting the delivery of high-quality education while actively promoting and embodying the schools values and educational philosophy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the classroom teacher with daily activities and lesson preparation.
  • Support individual and small group learning to meet diverse student needs.
  • Help maintain a safe positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Supervise students during class playtime and transitions.
  • Contribute to the social and emotional development of students.

Professional Expectations

  • Follow guidance from the Head of Junior School Head of Learning Enrichment and classroom teachers.
  • Participate in meetings and professional development.
  • Adhere to school policies including Workplace Health and Safety and Child Protection.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Certificate III in Education Support (or equivalent experience).
  • Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Intermediate computer literacy and strong organisational skills.
