Senior Transportation Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and innovative Senior Transportation Engineer to join our team in Rockville this role you will lead the planning design and implementation of transportation systems that improve mobility enhance safety and promote sustainability within our communities.

• Design and develop transportation infrastructure including roadways intersections and traffic control systems
• Utilize traffic simulation and modeling software to evaluate transportation scenarios
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate transportation solutions into broader urban development projects
• Prepare engineering plans technical specifications reports and project documentation
• Develop and implement traffic management and safety strategies to reduce congestion
• Engage with stakeholders and participate in client meetings to present and discuss transportation plans
• Monitor industry trends emerging technologies and regulatory updates
• Manage project budgets schedules and resources to ensure successful delivery
• Supervise and mentor a team of engineers
• Contribute to proposal development and ensure technical solutions meet client and industry standards
• Maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships

Qualifications :

Bachelors degree in Civil & Environmental Engineering

Professional Engineer (PE) license required

Minimum 10 years of experience in roadway and transportation engineering design

Strong knowledge of transportation engineering planning traffic flow analysis and safety principles

Proficiency in Civil3D AutoCAD and/or MicroStation

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite GIS and other data analysis tools

Knowledge of basic traffic engineering and transportation planning principles

Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across multidisciplinary teams and client interaction

PTOE (Professional Traffic Operations Engineer) certification preferred

PMP (Project Management Professional) certification preferred 

Additional Information :

Salary: Between $130k - $175k commensurate with experience and qualifications.
