Position Description:
The Program Director for the Graduate Psychology Department is responsible for maintaining high academic standards while overseeing the entire graduate department and curriculum and reports directly to the Dean. We are looking for a dynamic leader who thrives in an educational environment and is committed to continuous quality program improvement that aligns with institutional vision mission and educational goals. The Director oversees both the on-campus and online tracks. Responsibilities include academic leadership personnel management and administration/finance.
Essential Functions:
Responsible for the graduate program budget and makes all final budgetary decisions advocating for programs budgetary needs.
Oversee and supervise all faculty; responsible for hiring evaluation and supervision; leads all faculty Searches and serve on the Faculty Search Committees as well as hires all adjunct faculty.
Reviews all student applications and make final admissions decisions for all prospective applicants after recommendations from admissions committee; facilitate prospectives student interviews and provides all second interviews for potential applicants.
Responsible for ongoing program development creation assessment modification and program initiatives as well as responsible for annual reports and program reviews.
Reviews and approves all program changes and development of curriculum; gives final approval for all implementation of updates to program catalogs handbooks and academic policies.
Ensures that all documentation is being submitted for continued approval of the program by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
Supervises and advises Directors of Clinical Training and reviews all student appeals petitions and behavioral issues; provides remediation and intervention for students and addresses student specific issues and/or problems.
Teaches in the Graduate Clinical Psychology Department at least 6 units per semester. Facilitates and leads all New Student Orientations for both online and on campus tracks during for both fall and spring applicants.
Runs the monthly meetings for the Graduate Clinical Psychology Department as well as monthly Directors meetings; attends all Faculty meetings Director/Chair and Leadership meetings required by the University.
Minimum Qualifications:
Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology or Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field.
Understanding of higher education workings and organization as well as online learning.
Ability to articulate the programs mission and develop vision for the program and provide rationale for funding needs.
Consistent record of development and accomplishment as a professional educator

Salary:
Full-time position. Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Assistant Professor: $60595 to $81501
Associate Professor: $70676 to $95190
Professor: $82031 to $113974
Placement at appropriate rank (e.g. Assistant Associate or Full Professor) and initial salary is dependent upon education experience and based on Vanguards faculty compensation schedule. The upper range is reserved for candidates that demonstrate the highest level of proficiency within a particular rank. Vanguard University also offers a very competitive and generous benefits package.
Vanguard offers both tenure track and term faculty contracts; the type of contract offered will be determined based on the candidates qualifications at the time of hire.
