Job Summary
Intermountain Farmers Association (IFA) is a regional farm supply co-op with diverse operations including feed production agronomy services and retail stores throughout the intermountain west. We are currently seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Shipping Clerk/Inside Sales Rep at the IFA Distribution Center in Salt Lake City Utah.
Job Summary: The Shipping Clerk/Inside Sales Rep will be responsible for processing and shipping orders invoicing wholesale orders verifying shipments with loaders and assisting with inside sales and customer service. This role involves attention to detail strong communication skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Complete shipping paperwork for all deliveries including invoices and packing slips.
- Weigh all FedEx orders and prepare labels to be shipped by 12:00 PM.
- Monitor email for last-minute same-day orders and create shipments to be queued up for picking.
- Answer the main phone line as the first point of contact for customers.
- Monitor loaders two-way radios for coordination of shipments and deliveries.
- Calculate freight charges for shipments.
- Schedule all LTL (Less Than Truckload) shipments.
- Reconcile load sheets and input data into the daily Load Reconciliation spreadsheet.
- Input will-call orders for wholesale accounts and employees.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Effectively communicate with supervisors and managers providing timely responses to inquiries.
- Maintain open orders and ensure they are processed accurately and efficiently.
- Reach out to wholesale accounts weekly to take orders and offer assistance.
- Work closely with others on route sheets load sheets and queuing up orders.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to trucks and shipments.
- Run VL06O (Sales Order Posting) at the end of each day to ensure all orders are posted.
- Collaborate with the credit department to ensure wholesale accounts maintain good credit standing.
- Use company software and systems proficiently.
- Work well with coworkers and contribute to a positive team environment.
- Treat all co-workers with respect and professionalism.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Essential Physical and Related Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time during shifts.
- Ability to use a computer for extended periods of time during shifts.
- Capable of handling stress while performing job functions.
Education Requirements:
- High School Diploma GED or equivalent required.
Job Hours:
- 8:00 AM 5:00 PM with an hour lunch or 8:30 AM 5:00 PM with a ½ hour lunch.
