We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Adult Acute Speech and Language Therapist to join a busy acute inpatient service in Leicester. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced therapist to work within a fast-paced hospital environment supporting adults with a range of communication and swallowing disorders.
You will manage an adult acute inpatient caseload delivering high-quality assessment and intervention for patients with complex needs including dysphagia. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team you will play a vital role in supporting patient recovery safety and quality of life during their hospital admission.
In this role you will:
Assess diagnose and manage adults with speech language communication and swallowing difficulties within an acute inpatient setting.
Deliver evidence-based interventions tailored to individual patient needs.
Undertake dysphagia assessments and contribute to safe swallowing management plans.
Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team including medical nursing and therapy colleagues.
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with professional and organisational standards.
Contribute to service development and clinical discussions as appropriate to banding level.
To be considered for this role you must have:
A UK-recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).
HCPC registration and membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).
Experience working with an adult acute inpatient caseload (NHS experience desirable but not essential).
Postgraduate dysphagia training and confidence managing swallowing disorders.
Strong clinical reasoning communication and time-management skills.
