Northwest Talent Solutions (NWTS) is recruiting on behalf of a large nationally recognized construction organization seeking a Senior M/E Engineer with a strong electrical engineering focus.
This role plays a critical leadership position across preconstruction field execution commissioning and client engagement supporting complex construction projects from early planning through close-out. The successful candidate will combine technical expertise financial and scheduling acumen and people leadership to deliver high-quality safe and profitable projects.
Engineering & Preconstruction Leadership
Develop and review mechanical and electrical estimates based on schematic and program-level design information
Evaluate system options perform systems analysis and recommend optimized solutions and value engineering opportunities
Coordinate M/E scopes of work during bidding and subcontractor selection
Project Execution & Commissioning
Lead M/E coordination and sequencing to support project schedules
Review design documents and identify constructability quality or risk issues
Perform jobsite inspections to ensure compliance with specifications quality standards and safety expectations
Develop and manage pre-functional checklists functional testing procedures and commissioning plans
Review and approve shop drawings and submittals prior to design team submission
Verify correction of deficiencies and complete commissioning documentation
Leadership Client & Team Engagement
Serve as a client-facing representative for M/E scope and execution
Mentor and develop junior engineers and project team members
Support resource planning staffing and scheduling for assigned projects
Participate in presentations interviews and business development efforts as needed
Continuous Improvement
Develop tools processes and best practices to improve M/E execution and efficiency
Promote safety quality and inclusion across all project teams
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering Architectural Engineering or a related field (or equivalent relevant experience)
7 years of construction and/or engineering experience with increasing responsibility
Strong knowledge of electrical systems in a construction environment
Experience supporting projects from preconstruction through commissioning
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
Advanced communication presentation and stakeholder management skills
Proficiency with construction technology scheduling tools and Microsoft Office
Ability to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future
10 years of construction management experience
Experience managing teams and mentoring engineers
Familiarity with BIM Lean construction principles and scheduling software
FE or PE credentials
OSHA training and commissioning experience
Project-based on-site role with frequent travel required
