Location On-site role based in either:

  • Downtown San Francisco office (Financial District)
  • Midtown Manhattan New York City

Both offices are in highly walkable transit-friendly areas surrounded by great restaurants amenities and other major firms and institutions.

Note (Must-Have Qualifications) You must be an experienced complex litigator (5 years ideally 10) licensed in either California or New York with substantial experience in large multi-party or class cases and a strong track record as a legal writer and advocate.

Their team brings over 200 combined years of litigation experience and is frequently appointed as lead or co-lead counsel in major federal cases including groundbreaking generative AI and technology matters.

Job Description

  • Own and drive complex civil and class action cases from early investigation through trial and settlement.
  • Prepare argue and support critical motions and court hearings in federal and state courts.
  • Draft high-level pleadings and dispositive motions including complaints oppositions to motions to dismiss summary judgment briefing and class certification papers.
  • Lead and manage complex discovery including e-discovery workflows search terms productions and meet-and-confer negotiations.
  • Oversee document review teams ensuring accuracy consistency and strategic alignment.
  • Take and defend depositions; work closely with experts on liability damages and class issues.
  • Collaborate with co-counsel firms coordinate joint prosecution efforts and help manage large case teams.
  • Contribute to business development speaking and writing including involvement in professional conferences and thought-leadership pieces.

Qualifications

  • Licensed and in good standing with either the California State Bar or New York State Bar.
  • 5 years of civil litigation experience with a strong preference for 10 years and demonstrable experience running complex cases or major workstreams.
  • Background in antitrust class actions securities IP mass torts or other complex litigation is strongly preferred; high-end defense or plaintiff-side experience welcome.
  • Federal clerkship experience is highly valued and moves you to the front of the line.
  • Track record of excellent legal writing strategic thinking and oral advocacy.
  • Experience managing discovery depositions experts and mentoring junior attorneys.
  • Comfortable working intensely in high-impact matters while maintaining professionalism and a collaborative approach.
