Job Summary
My client a top international investment bank is growing in Asia and seeking a skilled Application Support Engineer to join them in Hong this role you will develop a stable and automated environment engage in simulations and testing of trading systems and collaborate with various teams to ensure high reliability and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Interact with senior FO Trading and Sales stakeholders to understand requirements and actively participate in product enhancement discussions.
- Automate processes to establish a reliability-focused trading environment ensuring minimal downtime and high system performance.
- Conduct comprehensive simulations and rigorous testing of trading systems to identify potential issues and validate functionality.
- Collaborate with development teams to analyze technical challenges draft specifications and participate in architectural discussions and code reviews.
- Diagnose and resolve bugs identified during system and UAT testing striving to enhance overall application performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
- 3 years of hands-on experience in a production support role within equity derivatives such as options and futures in an investment banking context.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python Shell Perl or Java with experience in unit testing practices and automation scripting.
- Familiarity with Linux and Windows environments as well as Oracle PL/SQL and Autosys for job scheduling.
- Strong understanding of DevOps; ideally experience with GitHub and some understanding of containerization.
