Summary:
Liverpool City Council is seeking a highly motivated and agile Recruitment Officer to join our fast-paced HR team. This is a critical end-to-end role requiring a unique blend of recruitment expertise and administrative precision. You will manage a personal caseload of vacancies acting as a strategic partner to hiring managers while ensuring all pre-employment compliance is met.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the full recruitment lifecycle from advising on engaging advert copy and selection methods to issuing final contracts of employment.
- Facilitate and verify all pre-appointment checks including Right to Work documentation references medical screening and processing DBS applications.
- Provide expert guidance to managers on Council policies employment legislation and HR best practices to ensure fair and effective hiring.
- Represent the Council at job fairs schools and universities to promote Liverpool City Council as an employer of choice.
- Adopt a flexible approach to support colleagues during high-volume periods ensuring all departmental deadlines are met.
Qualifications:
- HR/Recruitment qualification (e.g. CIPD) or equivalent relevant experience in talent acquisition.
Essentials:
- Proven experience in an in-house recruitment or talent acquisition role within a fast-paced environment.
- Essential experience using Tribepad to manage candidate flow and recruitment stages.
- Demonstrable experience handling complex pre-employment checks and understanding the vetting and barring process.
- Proven ability to multitask and manage a high-volume caseload while maintaining strict attention to detail.
