Summary:
The Education Employment and Training Adviser plays a key role within the Virtual School and Children Looked After and Leaving Care Service. The post holder will support and challenge professionals while working directly with looked-after children and care leavers to improve their education employment and training outcomes. This role involves direct engagement with young people who are NEET or at risk of becoming NEET ensuring statutory duties are met and safeguarding responsibilities are upheld.
Responsibilities:
- Support and promote the educational employment and training achievement of looked-after children and care leavers
- Work directly with a cohort of young people who are NEET or at risk of NEET including those on the Care Leaver Youth Trailblazers Programme
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal teams and external partners to improve EET outcomes
- Support and challenge professionals to ensure young people access appropriate education employment or training opportunities
- Analyse EET performance data and contribute to monitoring reports and service improvement
- Work with employers to develop work shadowing and work experience opportunities
Qualification:
- GCSE English and Maths or equivalent
Essentials:
- Demonstrable experience within education employment training or childrens services
- Strong understanding of safeguarding children young people and vulnerable adults
- Knowledge of legislation and guidance relating to looked-after children and care leavers
- Awareness of barriers to learning and the impact of trauma on young people
- Ability to work creatively and manage programmes to improve EET outcomes

- This role requires an Enhanced DBS
