Work Year: 196 days
Duties: The Site-Based Social Worker is responsible for providing direct social work services to students and their families within the William S. Hart Union High School District. The primary duties include:
- Conducting individual and group counseling sessions for students
- Assessing and addressing the social and emotional needs of students
- Developing and implementing intervention plans for students experiencing academic social or emotional difficulties
- Collaborating with school personnel parents and community agencies to provide comprehensive support for students and families
- Providing crisis intervention services as needed
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation of all services provided
- Participating in professional development and staff meetings as required
- Performing other duties as assigned by the District Social Work Coordinator
Qualifications:
- A Masters degree in Social Work or related field
- A valid California Pupil Personnel Services Credential with a School Social Worker Authorization
- At least two years of experience working as a school social worker or in a related field
- Knowledge of evidence-based social work practices and intervention strategies
- Ability to work collaboratively with school personnel parents and community agencies
- Strong communication interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of laws and regulations related to student services special education and child welfare
