Software Engineer III AWS Cloud Engineer + Java

As a Software Engineer III - AWS Cloud Engineer Java at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bank youll serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure stable and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firms business objectives.

Job responsibilities

• Deliver end-to-end cutting-edge solutions in the form of cloud-native microservice architecture applications leveraging the latest technologies and the best industry practices.
• Executes software solutions design development and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
• Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
• Support the products youve built through their entire life cycle including production and incident management
• Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
• Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
• Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies

Required qualifications capabilities and skills

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3 years applied experience
• Hands on Java Development experience and excellent architecture knowledge.
• Capable of design solutions meeting scalability reliability and security requirements.
• Hands-on practical experience in system design application development testing and operational stability
• Experience in developing debugging and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
• Working hands on experience in AWS cloud platform.
• Understanding of relational databases and cloud technologies (AWS GCP Azure etc.)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD Application Resiliency and Security
• Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Ability to work in a dynamic agile environment within a diverse inclusive and geographically distributed team

Preferred qualifications capabilities and skills

• Familiarity with modern front-end technologies
• Exposure to cloud technologies and AWS/CKAD Certified
• Experience in Python is preferred
• Understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture
• Good writing skills capable of producing supporting documentation and Good understanding of Microsoft Office suite particularly MS Excel
• Understanding of messaging frameworks (Kafka RabbitMQ etc.)
