Today over 18000 patients residents and visitors alike see our health care teams for both outpatient and inpatient services. SUMMARY: Use the nursing process (A.P.I.E.) to meet the needs of patients of all ages diagnosis patient classification in all practice areas; OR and GI Lab. PreOp when necessary. DUTIES: Performs treatments in a safe and effective manner. Administers medications in a timely and safe manner. Maintains responsibility for preparation interpretation and evaluation of test data. Demonstrates knowledge and skills to act appropriately in the Charge Nurse Role. Demonstrates knowledge and participates in education discharge planning and counseling of patients and significant other. Demonstrates commitment to professional growth and competency. Promotes positive interpersonal relationships. Maintains confidentiality of all patient and hospital information. Practices according to professional and ethical standards as described by State and Professional organizations. Provides care to patients in Pre-Op area PACU Operating Room and GI Lab in a professional and anticipatory manner. Performs all sterile activity utilizing aseptic technique. Assists Anesthesia with intubation and extubation as needed. Takes responsibility for all activities in the OR as the Patient Advocate. Take responsibility to make sure a proper Time Out is performed prior to incision per P&P. Performs accurate and timely documentation of all intraoperative records. Performs accurate intra-op counts for sponges instruments and sharps according to P&P. Cares for specimens according to P&P. Exemplifies Customer Service. Promotes Teamwork with Open Communication. Refrains from Gossiping. Participate in committees as assigned. Perform in accordance with all local state and federal laws and regulatory agency standards. Perform in accordance with EPH vision mission and goals. All other duties as assigned. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Graduate from an accredited nursing program and must possess a valid Colorado RN license or a valid multistate RN license through the Nurse Licensure Compact. 1-2 years previous experience in OR preferred. American Heart Association CPR/BLS certified. ACLS PALS within 6 months of hire. Bonus Structure: The following is the bonus structure used for our Peri-op Staff/Travelers who are working beyond the 7 required on-call shifts a month per their contracts. *After meeting the 7 shift requirements for taking call (shifts 1 -7 no bonus); *Shifts 8 10 receive $100 weekday bonus (Mon-Thurs) and $200 weekend day bonus (Fri-Sun); *Shifts beyond 10 receive $150 weekday bonus (Mon-Thurs) and $250 weekend day bonus (Fri-Sun). IMPORTANT PLEASE READ!! VERIFICATION OF CREDENTIALS CHECKLIST Before agency personnel may provide care to patients or perform any responsibility requiring a license a HR representative will confirm receipt of the following credentials/documents from candidates travel agency: Current CO license or multistate license and source verified o If permanent license verify online & print a copy of the page. o If temporary license have copy of authorization letter from Colorado Board of Nursing; verify by phone note on copy and place in their file. Copies of certifications required for the position that are listed in the Job Description. o Such as: BLS and ACLS must be AHA and PALS. Immunization records including documentation of immunity to Rubella Rubeola Mumps Varicella-Zoste Hep B and Tetanus. TB test within the last year. We will only accept QuantiFERON. Influenza shot is required by the State of Colorado no exceptions during influenza season. Influenza season is Sept 1st (depending on availability of flu vaccines) through to March 31st of the following year or as otherwise defined by the Department of Epidemiology and Flu Surveillance Team. Confirmation of having received the COVID Vaccine (copy of vaccine card). Copy of negative 10 panel drug screen results (within the last 30 days). Resume with work experience. Documented references. Proof of all required Regulatory (OSHA) Training. Assessment of skills/competencies. Results of criminal background check including OIG (within the last 30 days). CAPS check through the State of Colorado (required for all patient care positions). I will also need a W-9 for your company.
