AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Industrial Hygienist to be based in Fort Lauderdale FL.
This position is expected to begin as soon as possible.
The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
- Entry-level position in AECOMs Environment Business Line within the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Technical Practice Area; position will report to EHS Department in AECOMs Fort Lauderdale Florida office.
- Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member on a variety of EHS projects including but not limited to: health and safety related surveys and assessments hazardous material surveys environmental site assessments multi-media site investigations environmental audits and environmental compliance plans and permitting.
- Utilize basic scientific principles theories practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope.
- Collect and enter data and apply technical principles and theories.
- Interpret and record data conduct analyses compare findings to relevant studies and local state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
Qualifications :
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Industrial Hygiene Biology Chemistry Physics or in another related field.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
- Must have a valid U.S drivers license and as a condition of employment must be able to pass AECOMs Motor Vehicle Records review.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent technical writing and organizational skills.
- Critical thinking and problem solving.
- Strong working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications including MS Word and Excel.
- Ability to conduct field work.
- Prior related intern and/or professional experience.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to perform detail-oriented work.
- Experience with database development usage and data analytics.
- Autodesk and/or ArcMap proficiency.
- Air modeling and/or permitting experience.
- Willingness/ability to be in the field and travel.
- OSHA 10-Hour trained.
- HAZWOPER 40-Hour trained.
- EPA AHERA asbestos inspector accreditation.
