We are seeking an Accountant to join our finance team and to handle accounting and financial records for the opening of a new hotel in Venice. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to contribute to the financial health and operational efficiency of our new venture from the ground up. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all daily accounting and financial record-keeping playing a crucial role in establishing robust financial processes and ensuring accurate reporting from day one. Key Responsibilities:
- Daily recording of accounting operations (general journal receipts payments reconciliations).
- Management of the accounts payable cycle including recording purchase invoices.
- Verification of cash documents credit cards POS terminals and hotel management system (PMS) reports.
- Management of bank and cash reconciliations.
- Ensuring compliance with internal administrative procedures.
- Management of digital and physical document archiving.
Qualifications :
- Diploma in Accounting or Degree in Economics/Business Administration (preferred).
- At least 1-2 years of experience in accounting preferably in the hotel or tourism sector.
- Excellent knowledge of general accounting and administrative practices.
- Native Italian English is a plus.
- Preferred knowledge of major hotel PMS systems (e.g. Opera).
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting software.
- Knowledge of Italian tax regulations regarding invoicing and VAT management.
- Accuracy confidentiality and attention to detail.
- Organizational skills and ability to manage priorities.
- Problem-solving and operational autonomy.
