In this position...

You will apply engineering principles & analytical techniques to establish and continuously improve manufacturing processes and products.



Responsibilities

What youll do...

  • Ensure plant floor fastening equipment is maintained and documented to Ford standard PTP 07-111 (Calibration Accuracy Verification of DC Fastening Equipment).
  • Develop and adjust using process data the fastening strategies based on the Ford ME fastening template PTA-480-ME-1.
  • Troubleshoot and react to fastening rejects.
  • Address FTT issues.
  • Assist maintenance with repair and test of fastening equipment.
  • Optimize fastening programs for cycle time.
  • Investigate fastening related warranty issues.
  • Achieve long term reduction of socket cost per axle.


Qualifications

Youll have...

High School Diploma or GED

1 or more years experience working in a manufacturing environment (internship and coop experience will be considered)

Even better you may have...

Bachelors Degree

Effective oral and written communication skills

2 or more years in the automotive industry

Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience

8D and 5Why corrective action and problem solving skills

Solid understanding of Lean Tools 5S Kanban Poka-yoke and Value Stream Mapping

Familiarity with DMAIC and DMADV (DFSS) Project Methodology experience

Knowledge of TQM and Kaizen Methods

FMEA PPAP and DOEs experience

Validated experience with Visual Factory Management

Ergonomic analysis knowledge and experience

Successful candidate must be able to demonstrate leadership behaviors combined with outstanding interpersonal teambuilding and communication skills
