Job Overview

Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a dedicated SPED Cross-Categorical Assistant to support students with a range of special education needs. This role involves assisting students across multiple disability categories and supporting instructional behavioral and classroom activities. The ideal candidate is patient adaptable and able to work collaboratively with teachers and school staff to support student success.

Responsibilities

Provide direct academic behavioral and social support to students with cross-categorical needs
Assist teachers with lesson reinforcement small-group instruction and individualized support
Implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention strategies as directed
Support students during classroom activities transitions specials lunch and daily routines
Foster a structured positive and inclusive learning environment
Assist with communication emotional regulation and organizational skills
Document student progress behavior and observations as required
Collaborate with teachers therapists and administrative staff
Follow school policies maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism

Qualifications

Experience working with children in special education or related settings preferred
Background as a SPED assistant paraprofessional PCA ABA aide or classroom support staff is a plus
Ability to follow instructional plans and manage classroom behaviors effectively
Strong communication teamwork and interpersonal skills
Reliable punctual and able to commit to the full contract duration
