Your role and responsibilities

You will:

  • work alongside children young people parents families and schoolswhere there are early signs of school absence to bring about sustainable improvement
  • act as Lead Professional for named families as directed by colleagues being the key contact with the family and liaising with other professionals to provide a joined-up response.
  • respond daily to identified family by identifying needs by delivering evidence-based interventions.
  • provide information and signposting for children young people families and schools to relevant universal and specialist services in the local area and beyond.

You will need

  • to be passionate about making a positive difference for Suffolk.
  • to demonstrate a practical understanding of solution focused approaches of intervention
  • knowledge of the social and emotional influences on childrens learning and development with a sensitive and inclusive approach to matters relating to disability sexuality gender and ethnicity.

Our team plays a vital role in supporting children and young people across the local authority to access education consistently and confidently. We work closely with schools families and partner agencies to identify barriers to attendance and provide tailored interventions that make a real difference.
