About the Role

We are seeking a Lead Data Administrator / Data Manager to oversee and manage complex database environments. This role involves planning integrating and sustaining a range of database technologies under broad direction. You will provide deep technical expertise ensuring optimal performance security and reliability of critical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and maintain Oracle databases including PL/SQL development and containerised database management.
  • Implement automation to improve efficiency and industrialise solutions.
  • Manage Data Guard configurations backup/restore processes and proactive monitoring.
  • Ensure database security including account and privilege management.
  • Work with Oracle Exadata architecture and EMCC for job scheduling and debugging.
  • Programming in Java Python or Perl is essential; experience with APEX and Golden Gate is desirable.

The Successful Candidate

To excel in this role you will:

  • Demonstrate strong experience in Oracle database administration and Linux enterprise environments.
  • Have proven ability to optimise database performance manage configurations and implement robust security measures.
  • Be adaptable detail-oriented and capable of working collaboratively in a high-security environment.

Desirable:

  • Experience with Oracle APEX and Golden Gate.
  • Familiarity with Sybase ASE and Replication Server.

Location: The role is based in Canberra ACT.

Contract terms: 12 months from commencement date plus potential extensions

SFIA level required: The Specified Person will be expected to demonstrate attributes of SFIA Level of Responsibility 5.

Security Requirements: Current Top-Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) security clearance is strongly preferred however candidates who have held a TSPV in the previous 12-month period (which has since been downgraded) may be considered. An OSA (Organisational Suitability Assessment) will be required for this position.
