Responsibilities:
- Develop test and maintain robust Ansible playbooks and roles for configuration management application deployment and system orchestration. Youll also contribute to the creation and maintenance of workflows within VMware Orchestration to automate complex multi-step processes.
- Administer and troubleshoot our VMware vSphere environments. A significant part of this role involves supporting and managing NSX for vSphere including logical switching routing firewall rules and security groups.
- Actively utilize VMware Aria for Logs for centralized log aggregation analysis and troubleshooting. Youll also leverage VMware Aria Operations for proactive monitoring performance analysis capacity planning and generating actionable insights for our virtualized infrastructure.
- Support the use of VMware Lifecycle Manager for patching upgrading and ensuring the healthy lifecycle of our VMware products and solutions.
- Assist in the administration and effective utilization of Ansible Tower for centralized automation management and reporting. Youll also provide support for SaltStack configurations and operations where applicable.
- Participate actively in troubleshooting and resolving automation and infrastructure-related incidents leveraging diagnostic tools and your expertise in the mentioned platforms.
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for automation scripts infrastructure configurations and operational procedures.
- Work closely with network security application and development teams to ensure seamless integration and successful deployment of automated solutions.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of hands-on experience in IT operations systems administration or a similar role with a strong focus on automation and virtualization
- Proven experience with Ansible for automation and configuration management.
- Familiarity with VMware vSphere administration and a good understanding of NSX for vSphere concepts and basic configurations.
- Experience with VMware Orchestration (formerly vRealize Orchestrator) workflow development or execution.
- Practical experience with VMware Log Insight and VMware Operations Manager for monitoring and analysis.
- Basic understanding of VMware Lifecycle Manager.
- Exposure to Ansible Tower and/or SaltStack.
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure components (servers networking storage).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
