Job Summary
At Prestatech we help b2b fintech clients automate document processing and credit decisions. When you think of getting a loan or mortgage the first thing that comes to mind is often the slow process. Our goal is to simplify this through technology.
Prestatech was founded in 2021 with offices in Berlin and Milan. To date we have raised 8 million which has allowed us to offer even more innovative solutions to our clients expand operations in Italy and enter new markets (UK Germany USA).
Tasks
Who we are looking for
Prestatech is looking for a Senior Software Engineer (m/w/d) on Python stack. Our two main challenges are: experiments on new reliable document retrieval approaches (OCR neural networks LLM) and modernization of older systems. We are ready to dedicate time to increasing quality and reducing accidental complexity.
We have a small team dedicated to extracting various bank statements payslips fiscal documents and other documents from a few countries. We built it and we are trying our best to run it too :)
In document processing we touch on topics of OCR and fraud detection
Our stack:
- For Python type hints are being extended across the code. Ruff is utilized as a linter & formatter along with mypy as an additional type-checker
- Python 3.12 asyncio FastAPI PostgreSQL Kubernetes. A bit of older Flask and Azure Python function app systems but everything at least in Docker
- Code is integrated from fast-living branches and automatically deployed to the environment in Azure DevOps.
- Azure cloud: databases Kubernetes storage accounts and machine learning tools**.**
Requirements

- Familiarity with system design & architecture approaches
- Sharing CI/CD and DevOps values responsibility for maintaining production systems

- Familiarity with developer environments Git Docker SQL or NoSQL databases on base level

- Have already experimented with ML solutions testing them and integrating
- Desire to go tests first approaches and pair/mob design and programming

Interview process:
- HR Interview (20 minutes)
- Tech Lead (Manager) interview: general questions about experience and engineering and online coding (not more than 60 minutes)
- Talk with CTO (20 minutes)
- Final Talk with Founders (30 minutes)
