Emami Limited is hiring a Botanist / Taxonomist for its Healthcare Division to support botanical authentication and quality assurance of medicinal and aromatic plant raw materials used in Ayurvedic and herbal healthcare products. This is a core R&D role focused on taxonomy pharmacognosy and raw material identification as per regulatory and pharmacopeial standards.
Perform taxonomical and anatomical identification of medicinal and aromatic plant raw materials as per Ayurvedic Pharmacopoeia of India (API).
Conduct macroscopic and microscopic examination for authentication and detection of substitutes/adulterants.
Carry out physicochemical and phytochemical analysis and compile technical reports.
Identify and evaluate substitute species based on botanical and analytical parameters.
Develop maintain and manage herbarium specimens raw material reference samples and RM museum for internal use.
Maintain documentation laboratory notebooks (LNB) SOPs and daily activity records of the Pharmacognosy lab.
Provide technical and analytical support to R&D QC sourcing and other internal teams.
Support new vendor development and commercial supply through raw material authentication.
Conduct literature reviews and prepare technical/scientific presentations and reports.
Assist in preparation of SOPs related to analytical methods plant collection section cutting and sample handling.
Prepare monthly reports and presentations as required.

Master’s degree in Botany / Pharmacognosy / Pharmacy / Forestry / Agriculture
Ph.D. preferred but not mandatory
Academic or industry exposure to medicinal plant taxonomy pharmacognosy or raw material authentication is desirable
