Job Summary

Lewis Central Community School District is looking for aChess Club Sponsorfor the2025-26School activities expected time commitment for working isSeptember-May. Additional time may be required outside of this timeframe and will be determined by the Activities Director.

Job Summary:

Under the general direction of the Activities Director the Chess ClubSponsorsprimary responsibilitiesis to lead and develop students in extra-curricular and in some instances co-curricular activities to help achieve both individual andprogram success.

Essential Functions

Develop and implement effectiveprogram that in some assignments focus on skill development teamwork andwell-rounded students.
Provide guidance and mentorship to student participants fostering their personal andextra-curriculargrowth.
Plan and execute practice sessions as necessary.
Create and maintain a positive and inclusive culture that emphasizes respect discipline and commitment.
Collaborate with school staff parents and community members to promote a supportive and engaging program.
Attend and actively participate in scheduled meetings workshops and professional development opportunities as requested.
Ensure compliance with all school district and state policies.
Communicate effectively with students parents and school administration regarding activities schedules and expectations.
Encourage academic achievement and emphasize the importance of balancing academics with extra-curricular activities.
Attend support and supervise students atcompetitions performances and other related events.

Travel Requirements:

Depending on the assignment this position may berequired to travel to all related events and in some instance operate a school vehicle to transport student-participantsto events.
