- Lead energizing fun safe and educational group classes that align with the healthy living program and objectives
- Understands different health needs observes and adjusts approach to support all participants capabilities physical conditions and objectives.
- Educates members on safe techniques and guidelines.
- Greet and encourage all members and orients new participants.
- Maintain a clean and safe workout environment
- Build community through forming positive relationships through learning members names and helping members reach their Health & Wellness goals.
Ok Im sold! What do I need to qualify
- Current Water Fitness Instructor Certification. Nationally Recognized Water/Aqua Fitness Instructor Certifications from ACSM AEA AFPA ATRI SCWfit USWFA or YMCA will meet this requirement.
- CPR AED and First Aid Certification through American Red Cross American Heart Association or ASHI. Certification may be obtained either in person or through a blended mode. Courses completed 100% online will not meet this requirement. Certification must be maintained and current at all times
- Physical ability to lead and participate in exercise/fitness activities
- Ability to deal with a diverse group of individuals.
- Strong Communication skills and the capability to work with members of all fitness levels and abilities
- Knowledge of safe exercise techniques and principles
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position including leading class walking standing jumping hopping kicking. bending reaching and lifting of weights.
- Ability to lift minimum of 25 pounds.
- Ability to react to emergency situations in an indoor or outdoor environment.
