Position: Case Manager
Division: Families Community Building and Workforce Development
Reports to: Deputy Director Education Center
Location: Education Center
Status/Hours: Full time 35 hours per week; Some evening and weekend coverage is required
Salary Range: $40000 - $40000
Program Description:
The Education Center provides adult education services to the Brooklyn community. We serve students with GED preparation classes ESL classes and vocational addition the Education Center operates a Family Welcome Center in which we provide case management & wrap-around services workforce development programming and regular community workshops & events. Many of our students speak Spanish Arabic or Chinese as their first language.
Position Description:
The Case Manager supports ESL and GED students as they work toward their education and employment goals.
Responsibilities:
Case management and career counseling services for students in GED preparation and ESL programs
Work with students in the development of education & employment plans
Intake for students entering GED preparation and ESL programs
Pre-testing and post-testing using TABE Best Plus 2.0 and Best Literacy
Maintain retention through regular check-ins and meetings with students
Follow up with students who have exited the program
Keep up-to-date case notes
Conduct job readiness workshops
Assist learners with employment internship and college applications
Collection of vital records
Attend professional development training
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications Required:
Bachelors degree required
Language skills in Spanish Arabic and/or Chinese are preferred
One year experience in case management and/or counseling
Strong computer skills
Strong time management and organizational skills
Strong problem solving skills and the ability to be resourceful
Willingness to collaborate with colleagues and work as part of a team
Ability communicate effectively in the face of stress feedback or change
