Warm Valley Health Care is seeking a dedicated Optometry Technician to join our Optometry/Eye Care Services team. This role supports the Optometrist in delivering high-quality culturally responsive eye care to patients of the Wind River Reservation. The ideal candidate is patient-centered detail-oriented and committed to serving our community with professionalism and respect.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet patients and obtain accurate medical and ocular histories.

• Perform clinical testing including visual acuity autorefraction tonometry lensometry keratometry visual field testing OCT fundus photography and corneal topography.

• Assist with contact lens fittings training and ordering.

• Provide patient education on eye health treatments and contact lens care.

• Document all procedures and findings in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).

• Support referrals care coordination and follow-up for specialty services.

• Maintain exam rooms equipment and clinical supplies.

• Participate in community outreach such as school screenings and health fairs.

• Adhere to HIPAA OSHA and infection control standards.

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Experience in healthcare optometry ophthalmology or related clinical support.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with cultural sensitivity.

• Computer proficiency and familiarity with EHR systems and diagnostic equipment.

• Ability to work collaboratively and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred

• Certified Paraoptometric (CPO) or higher.

• Two years of optometry or ophthalmology experience.

• Experience working in Native health or with tribal communities.

• Bilingual skills (English and a Native language spoken on the Wind River Reservation).

Work Environment

• Outpatient clinical setting.

• Frequent standing walking and bending; ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

• Full-time schedule with occasional evenings or weekends for outreach.
