About the Role
Acton CE Primary Academy is looking to appoint a new member of staff. The staff member would be part of a team in a class where there are children with additional needs some time would be supporting these children specifically. We welcome applicants with any level of experience including those looking to develop their skills within a supportive and inclusive school environment.
The role would begin as soon as possible in the Spring Term 2026 and is temporary in the first instance for the remainder of this academic year. We would welcome someone with experience of working in a primary school setting and with children with specific educational needs. However key considerations are that we appoint a person who is caring kind and can form strong relationships with individual children. Being a team player is something that is important. Furthermore we would like someone who can ensure a calm and positive approach has excellent verbal communication skills and who can create stimulating and learning opportunities.
We are looking for an inspiring individual who will help provide our pupils with the support they need the ability to adapt learning to ensure it is memorable and engaging.

This teaching assistant role is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in our childrens education drawing on your commitment to developing pupil learning ability and knowledge accessibility. Working closely with class teachers you will be helping pupils to expand their knowledge and play a positive role in school life. You will utilise your knowledge communication skills and creativity to help pupils understand the information presented.
Your duties as a teaching assistant will include:
Acton CE Primary Academy places the highest priority on safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Applicants for all posts will be subject to stringent vetting and induction processes. The holder of this post will be required to work with children under the age of 18 in a position of trust and is therefore exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. The successful candidate will be subject to the relevant checks and enhanced DBS.

Rate of pay: competitive and based upon experience
Hours: 32.5 hours term time only
Contract: temporary in the first instance but may become permanent for the right candidate. The role is dependent upon funding.
