Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Assistive Technology this part-time (up to 28 hrs/week) hybrid role supports students with alternate format accommodations by remediating course materials (textbooks PDFs PowerPoints) into accessible formats such as e-text large print Braille and raised graphics. The position also provides assistive technology troubleshooting and occasional one-on-one training. Candidates should have experience with accessibility standards (ADA Section 504/508 WCAG 2.1) assistive technologies and strong attention to detail. A bachelors degree or equivalent experience required. Must be available for on-campus work as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Remediate textbooks tests and course materials into accessible formats specifically college level STEM subjects in Microsoft Kurzweil and Adobe applications.
  • Troubleshoot assistive technologies and provide backup training support
  • Collaborate with team to ensure usability and compliance with accessibility standards
  • Maintain accurate case notes and project data
  • Attend department and technology team meetings

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in a related field OR an equivalent amount of education and experience. Equivalencies will notcount towards the experience listed below.
  • Experience with adaptive tools and assistive technologies that supportpeoplewith disabilities
  • Understanding of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.
  • Ability to perform detailed work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
