About the Job: In this position youll perform a variety of semi-skilled maintenance and repair duties in support of the Colorado Springs Airport.

Job Type:Full Time

Learn more about the department: a Maintenance Technician II you will:

Perform the full range of semi-skilled maintenance duties involved in the maintenance and repair of buildings structures drainage systems grounds carpentry electrical plumbing mechanical HVAC masonry equipment operation and other duties as assigned
Complete assigned work orders and tasks requiring semi-skilled maintenance skills and techniques
Assist with snow removal as needed
Operate various hand and power tools and shop equipment
Operate equipment as assigned including snow plow front-end loaders sweepers backhoes and dump trucks
Estimate time materials and equipment required for jobs assigned; requisition materials as required
Perform field inspections; assess necessary repair and maintenance work; perform safety and vandalism checks; and remove trash and debris. Maintain operation records and file reports as needed
Respond to public inquiries in a courteous manner; provide information within the area of assignment; and explain City policies and procedures to the general public

Minimum Qualifications

We value a diverse range of qualifications and experiences. Our organization views each year of further education as equivalent to each year of relevant work experience and each year of additional relevant work experience as equivalent to each year of required education.

Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade (high school diploma or GED).
Three years of full-time professional experience in a related field.

Certifications and Licenses:Must possess or be able to acquire the following certifications and/or licenses required in accordance with standards established by departmental policy.

Possess or obtain upon hire and maintain a valid non-probationary Colorado drivers license not subject to restrictions.

Preferred Qualifications

A valid non-probationary Colorado Class B CDL not subject to restriction related to alcohol and/or drug violations or pending charges is required for this position.
