As needed- Minimum of two (2) full shifts per month with one (1) of those shifts occurring on a weekend (Saturday and/or Sunday)

General Summary

Performs routine and specialized diagnostic and technical radiographic procedures at an intermediate skill level.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs radiographic examinations; obtains patient history explains routine procedures and addresses patient concerns.
• Able to perform more complex operating room procedures as well as fluoroscopic and overhead procedures and more complex portable exams if applicable to the location of outpatient center.
• Schedules cases to coordinate with other patient examinations.
• Properly processes images using digital technology. Able to resolve exceptions in PACs and EHR systems and has the ability to cancel unnecessary orders upon request of providers(site specific)
• Positions and transfers patients safely and comfortably and explains basic procedure.
• Immobilizes patients as necessary and practices radiation safety procedures.
• Evaluates recorded images for technical quality. consistently maintains a repeat rate under 5%.
• Participates in and collaborates with other departments on projects to improve care and efficiency as needed.
• Demonstrates leadership skills with capability of taking on a charge role if needed.
• Participates in and collaborates with other departments on projects to improve care and efficiency as needed; participates in at least 1 project including but not limited to: equipment QA (monthly quarterly testing) creating standards of work engagement committee.
• Becomes proficient in optional cross-trained skills(site specific) of EKGs and/or phlebotomy.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

• High School Diploma or GED Required

Work Experience:

• 2 years Relevant experience. Required

Licenses:

• Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required and
• Registered Technologist-Cardiac Interventional Radiology - ARRT Upon Hire Required or
• Registered Technologist-Cardiovascular Interventional Radiology - ARRT Upon Hire Required or
• Registered Technologist-Radiation Therapy - ARRT Upon Hire Required or
• Registered Technologist-Radiography - ARRT Upon Hire Required or
• Registered Technologist-Vascular Interventional Radiology - ARRT Upon Hire Required

Courses and Training:

• Accredited program in radiologic technology. Upon Hire Required
