Position Purpose:
The Bid Room Supervisor leads a team of 46 Bid Room Specialists responsible for providing accurate timely and high-quality support to The Home Depot store and merchandising communities. This role ensures operational excellence data accuracy and process consistency across bid review quote processing and pricing governance activities.
The supervisor is accountable for driving alignment between store operations merchandising and Pricing Strategy leadership by reinforcing clear communication timely escalation and adherence to standardized processes. This includes setting expectations coaching the team on service excellence ensuring workload balance and validating data integrity in all bid activities. The role is also accountable for the direct supervision of the work activities of others including personnel issues such as selection scheduling termination performance appraisal and professional development of subordinates.
The position partners closely with the Senior Manager of the Pro Pricing Strategy team and cross-functional business partners to deliver on Bid Room KPIs such as turnaround time accuracy and customer satisfaction. The role also requires proactive identification of process gaps continuous improvement initiatives and consistent transparent communication with leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- 50% Acts as senior Bid Room Specialist processing incoming bids from the stores and answering phone calls from the stores
- 20% Acting as a coach/mentor/leader for the rest of the Bid Room staff including performance management (evaluations corrective actions feedback coaching) conflict resolution and associate development.
- 20% Partners with senior manager director and merchandising community to ensure strategic volume pricing objectives are achieved.
- 10% Develops and distributes reporting including Bid Room operating KPIs (sales bids etc.) as well as personnel productivity
Direct Manager/Direct Reports:
- This position reports to Senior Manager Merchandising Solutions.
- This position has 4-6 direct reports.
Travel Requirements:
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in business operations or a related field.
- Proven success leading a customer support or pricing operations team in a high-volume fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to coach develop and hold associates accountable through structured feedback and performance management.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with a track record of maintaining alignment across multiple stakeholders and workstreams.
- Experience partnering with cross-functional teams such as Merchandising Pricing Strategy and Product Management.
- Working knowledge of retail analytics including pricing strategy cost/margin analysis and process KPI reporting.
- Ability to interpret data to identify operational trends and make process improvement recommendations.
- Familiarity with tools such as Tableau Google BigQuery or similar data/reporting platforms preferred.
