Job Responsibilities
- Supervises the organization training and daily work activities of Classification caseworkers.
- Serves as a member of the Institutional Classification Committee to determine recommendations for assignments and classification of inmates.
- Coordinates and supervises a weekly institutional orientation program.
- Interviews inmates discusses and records progress made on a periodic basis.
- Receives/reviews inmate requests for custody changes job/program assignment and sentence explanation.
- Responds orally and/or through written correspondence to inquiries of information by departmental officials and other agencies.
- Serves as a member of various institutional and departmental committees.
Must successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire
